I’m happy to announce that “Sweet and Sour” has been selected for “Artifacts,” an exhibition at 6 Bridges Gallery, juried by Claudia Fiks, Director of TAG/The Art Gallery.

“Artifacts” features 58 works by 39 artists and explores the marks, remnants, and meaningful objects that shape our understanding of the world.

The exhibition opens with a reception on Saturday, October 17th, from 5–7 pm. Hope you can join us!

“Sweet and Sour” is a multi-layered mixed media construction using Dura-Lar, plexiglass, and paper on aluminum composite, with acrylic paint, ink, transfers, colored pencil, graphite, and silk thread.

This piece considers how cultural expectations can become personal artifacts – quiet evidence of what we have absorbed, what remains, and what we carry forward, whether we like it or not. The work explores the lingering effects of messages we encounter early in life and the tension between what we have been taught to be and the more complicated inner lives we carry beneath the surface.
